International Varadero Gourmet Festival 2018
The International Varadero Gourmet Festival will be held June 26-29, 2018 at the Convention Center Plaza America, in Varadero. This 10th edition has been convened by the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba, Palmares Non-Hotel Business Group, and Cubasol Business Group with the purpose of positioning Cuba as a competitive culinary Mecca, especially for bars and snack bars, all linked to the gourmet food and beverage management.
The event program is focused on highlighting the traditional Cuban cuisine and promoting the knowledge sharing among connoisseurs on gastronomy, cocktails and related services, all paramount elements in the competitiveness of tourist destination. Besides, the 80th anniversary of Cabaret Tropicana will be celebrated.
Special attention will be given to subjects such as the cultural merging in the Cuban cuisine; present trends in the food and beverage management; spirit marriage, Habanos, chocolate, and coffee; after-dinner cocktails; tradition and gourmet stuffs in Cuban cuisine; regional cuisine; native desserts, Cuba traditional menu; history of Cuban rum as well as the history of bars in Cuba.
National and international entrepreneurs and connoisseurs linked to the management, training, and commercialization of food and beverages —both state employee and private— professionals who foster the development of cocktails and gastronomy, clients from all the tourist resorts of the country, especially from Varadero, Havana, Cienfuegos, and Trinidad will attend the International Varadero Gourmet Festival 2018.
The event will include contests on the haute cuisine of Cuba, cocktails, lectures, food presentation, guided tasting, launching, workshops, and exhibitions.
