These are, so far, the main events in Cuba for 2019 (III)

This is the last chapter of Cuba´s 2019 main cultural events saga. Now it is the turn for TRADITIONS, PERFORMING ARTS, and CRAFTWORK. A lot of ground to cover yet, let´s the show begins!

TRADITIONS

 INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL ROMERIAS DE MAYO

May 2-8 in Holguin

Festival of Young Artists, regional cultures, young art avant-garde movement as well as tradition and modernity. Young artists from different nations meet, exchange views, attend colloquium and perform publicly for seven days. Traditions of different nations are promoted and artistic expressions are displayed for the public’s enjoyment.

CARIBBEAN FESTIVAL. FIRE FESTIVAL.

July 3-9 in Santiago de Cuba

This is an event that gathers all the artistic expressions as well as the scientific and literary work in the region. The perfect meeting for all those culture-bearer from Cuba and the Caribbean. It has the well-known theoretical discussion panel: “El Caribe que nos une” (The Caribbean that unites us).

PERFORMING ARTS

 HAVANA’S THEATER FESTIVAL

October 18-27

International theater event with plays being staged in Theaters, squares, parks, schools, hospitals, and other facilities. Besides artistic performances, the public can enjoy workshops, lectures, panels, set striking, master classes, and exhibitions.

CRAFTWORK

 INTERNATIONAL CRAFTWORK FAIR “FIART 2019”

December 7-23 at PABEXPO, Havana

As usual, this fair offers multiple areas where the promotion and marketing of our craftpeople’s works from Cuba and abroad are going to be exhibited. This time, the fair runs under the motto Art, Utility, and Trade, and is dedicated to the province of Villa Clara, to furniture; while Mexico is the guest country.
